WHOLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

PLAY TICKETS: Hurry and get your tickets for this year’s play, a comedy, 'Break a Leg'. Play tickets will be on sale in the atrium from Thursday Feb. 24th until Wednesday March 2nd. All tickets are $7.00 each and all seats are general admission (no assigned seating). The play will run on Thursday March 3rd to Saturday March 5th. (KP –Mar 2)

POPCORN: Popcorn will be sold in the atrium during both lunches on Friday, March 4. $1.00/bag. (CHV –Mar 4)

YOGA: The drop in Yoga classes will continue on Mondays throughout March, from 3:05-4:05 PM. Classes cost $5.00 for each drop in class. Both staff and students are welcome. Come on out! (JR –Mar 28)

7/8 BOYS HOCKEY TEAM TRYOUTS:

Tryouts - Grade 7 - Thursday, March 3rd, 3:30-4:30 at the Splx, Rink 3
Tryouts - Grade 8 - Friday, March 4th, 3:00-4:30 at Walter Baker (TS –Mar 4)

ATTENTION 7 & 8 BADMINTON TEAM: Congratulations on a fantastic season! Your coaches are very proud of you all! Come on out Monday, March 7^th, 3 - 4 PM for some open court time as well as a team photo. Treats will also be served! Any 7 & 8 teachers are invited to come out to challenge our champs to a match! HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

INTRAMURAL HOCKEY PLAYOFFS: Intramural Hockey Playoffs take place this week: Semi Finals begin Friday with All Out vs Teachers. March 1 Baked Hippos vs Happy Seals. Winning teams play Wed March 2 in the Finals. (DP – Mar 2)

I.L.I.D. MEETING: There will be an In Love and In Danger meeting Wednesday in Rm. 112 at lunch for those students attending the conference on Thursday. Please bring your permission forms with you. (VW –Mar 2)

REACH FOR THE TOP: The playoffs are here! This week's games will be Wednesday with Team World Domination vs Black, Brown, and Yellow and Thursday The Council of Doom vs J.F.K. Zombies. (JS –Mar 2)

WHITE PINE CLUB: White Pine Club will meet on Thursday, March 3^rd during high school lunch. (CHV –Mar 3)

JR BOYS VOLLEYBALL:

· On Wednesday March 2nd we have a practice after school in the wood floor gym.

· Our second game at home vs. Sacred Heart is on Thursday March 3rd. (EM –Mar 3)

SAY IT OUT LOUD: Final call for February submissions. The choice of topic and form is yours. Drop off your submission to Rm 138 by Friday. Start thinking about the March contest. Students are asked to write a monologue or dialogue of 500 words maximum. (JS –Mar 4)

STRATFORD 2011: Please get your permission forms and deposit in by Wednesday, March 2 at the very latest. We are still looking for people to join us on the trip. All Stratford 2011 participants are asked to meet briefly in Rm 138 on Friday, March 4. This is an important meeting. If you cannot attend, please see Mr. Rowley or Mrs. Simpson before Friday. WANTED: A VOICE FOR STUDENTS! Interested in being a Student Trustee? You will assist your peers with complaints, questions and suggestions regarding your school or services, and bring those issues to the board. Term of Office: August 1, 2011 – July 31, 2012. Election: April 26, 2011. The Elected Student Trustee receives an honorarium of $ 2500. Each high school may select one candidate. Selection Deadline: April 15^th, 2011.

Full time day high school student
Overall average of at least 70%
16 years of age or older when assuming office (parent/guardian permission required if under 18 yrs).

EQAO LITERACY TEST PREPARATION: During the month of March, extra help/practice is available in the library seminar room before and after school in preparation for the test on Thursday, March 31, 2011. (CHV –Mar 25)
