clip_image002PLAY PREVIEW FOR STUDENTS! Tuesday afternoon, students will have the opportunity to see a 15 minute preview of “Break a Leg”.  Please wait for the announcement before coming down with your classes.

clip_image006PLAY TICKETS: Hurry and get your tickets for this year’s play, a comedy, 'Break a Leg'.  Play tickets will be on sale in the atrium from Thursday Feb. 24th until Wednesday March 2nd.  All tickets are $7.00 each and all seats are general admission (no assigned seating).  The play will run on Thursday March 3rd to Saturday March 5th. clip_image008YOGA: The drop in Yoga classes will continue on Mondays throughout March, from 3:05-4:05 PM. Classes cost $5.00 for each drop in class. Both staff and students are welcome. Come on out! (JR –Mar 28)

clip_image014INTRAMURAL HOCKEY PLAYOFFS: Intramural Hockey Playoffs take place this week: Semi Finals begin Friday with All Out vs Teachers. March 1 Baked Hippos vs Happy Seals. Winning teams play Wed March 2 in the Finals. (DP – Mar 2)

I.L.I.D. MEETING: There will be an In Love and In Danger meeting Wednesday in Rm. 112 at lunch for those students attending the conference on Thursday. Please bring your permission forms with you. (VW –Mar 2)

REACH FOR THE TOP: The playoffs are here! This week's games will be Wednesday with Team World Domination vs Black, Brown, and Yellow and Thursday The Council of Doom vs J.F.K. Zombies. (JS –Mar 2)

·          There is a practice Thursday, February 24th after school in the caf gym.

·          There is a practice on Monday, February 28th after school in the caf gym. 

·          We will be travelling on Tuesday March 1st to our First season game to Merivale High School. 

·          On Wednesday March 2nd we have a practice after school in the wood floor gym.

·          Our second game at home vs. Sacred Heart is on Thursday March 3rd.  (EM –Mar 3)

You will assist your peers with complaints, questions and suggestions regarding your school or services, and bring those issues to the board.  Term of Office: August 1, 2011 – July 31, 2012.  Election: April 26, 2011.  The Elected Student Trustee receives an honorarium of $ 2500.  Each high school may select one candidate.  Selection Deadline: April 15th, 2011.

·         Requirements:

  • Full time day high school student

  • Overall average of at least 70%

  • 16 years of age or older when assuming office (parent/guardian permission required if under 18 yrs).

Employment is open to any student aged 17 or older.  The Counselor in Training Program is a two-week program open to students aged 15 and 16.  Information on job opportunities and the training program for the summer of 2011 may be found on their website:  www.stbcamp.ca.  Application forms may be downloaded directly from the site.  Forms should be sent to Joanne Cooke, 499 Island Park Drive, Ottawa, ON  K1Y 0B4. WHOLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

clip_image002SIREN TIME – REMINDER TO STUDENTS AND STAFF: Silent reading should occur every class Monday to Friday for the first 10 minutes of each period.  All grades (7-12), teachers and staff make this a successful endeavour when we “Stop Immediately and Read Everything Now”. If you need reading materials, please stop by the library to pick up a SIREN box or bring your class to the library to pick out books that the students choose for themselves. (MO –Feb 28)
