WHOLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
WHOLE SCHOOL DOOR DECORATING: It's time to get out the Christmas decorations Titans! Decorate your homeroom doors with Christmas spirit by Wednesday December 15th! Your door can be decorated before this, but the judging will be happening on the Wednesday! The homerooms with the best doors for each floor will receive prizes!! (NR –Dec 15)
SPIRIT WEEK: Get ready Titans! It's Christmas, so it's time again for your annual Christmas themed spirit week (Dec 13 – 17)! On Monday, it's Bundle Up Day! Grab your hats, mitts, scarves and ski goggles and bundle up to go to class! On Tuesday, it's Ugly Christmas Sweater Day! Raid your closets for that glittery Christmas sweater or vest! Accessorize with Christmas earrings and pins if you wish to! On Wednesday, battle it out in Red vs. Green Day! On Thursday, put on those reindeer antlers and Santa hats for Christmas Headgear Day! On Friday, get cozy with your favourite Christmas pjs on Christmas PJ Day! Let's see that Christmas spirit Titans!! (NR –Dec 16)
7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS 
IMMUNIZATION CLINIC REMINDER: All grade 7 students and grade 8 girls are reminded of the Immunization Clinic scheduled for Monday December 13 and Tuesday December 14. Grade 7 students who have returned their permission forms will receive the Meningococcal C vaccine and grade 8 girls who have returned their permission forms will receive the second dose of the HPV vaccine. Students returned consent forms in September. If any students still have not returned forms, they may bring them to the clinic. Students are reminded to eat a good breakfast and to wear a top with short-sleeves on the day of the clinic. (CB –Dec 13)
HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
STAND UP TO BULLYING SQUAD: Just a reminder to all members of the Stand Up To Bullying Squad who signed up for today's meeting, Monday, Dec 13th to meet in the Career Centre at the beginning of lunch. (TC –Dec 13)
HS INTRAMURALS: Come out to the wood floor gym this week and next to see which team will be crowned champion - Season is short, playoffs begin this week - Finals Thursday! (DP –Dec 14)
HS INTRAMURAL FLOOR HOCKEY 3 ON 3: Team forms are available in the wood floor gym hallway or see Mr. Prigent. Deadline to submit a team is Tuesday December 14. Teams consist of 3 players and one goalie - at least one male and one female on the floor at all times. $1 per player. (DP –Dec 14)
SAY IT OUT LOUD: The sonnet deadline has been extended until Friday, December 3. The November winner will be announced on that day. The December writing contest is a SHORT STORY (500 words). The deadline is January 3. Please see Mrs. Simpson for details. (JS –Dec 17)
YOUTH VIDEO CONTEST – END THE STIGMA: The Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health is excited to launch The Youth Anti-Stigma Video Contest, sponsored by Bell. Mental Illness- Make a Video, End Stigma. 1st Prize: $ 2500, 2nd Prize: $ 1000. Contest Deadline: 9th February, 2011. Winning videos (in French and English) will be premiered at the Gala in March! SUMMER JOBS AT G.B. CATERING: G.B. Catering is looking for 150 people to work in summer camp kitchens across Ontario. They are looking for quick learners, hard-workers, fun-lovers, easy goers..with enthusiasm (dishwashers, kitchen helpers, cooks, bakers, sous chefs, chef managers). GRAD PHOTO RETAKES: Grade 12 students wishing to have grad photo retakes must see Mrs. Watkinson in Student Services to book an appointment. Our retake day will be Thursday, December 16th. The appointments will be scheduled during school day hours. Students will receive appointment slips. (KW –Dec 15)
GRADS GRADS GRADS! Grad write-up notices have gone out! If you have not received a hand-out, please go to Student Services to pick one up. Please send these as soon as possible to MTHS2011@gmail.com.
Also, we would like to start collecting baby photos. E-mail these photos to MTHS2011@gmail.com OR hand in a physical copy to the box in Student Services with your name written on the back. The deadline is January 7th, but submit both your grad write-up AND baby photo before Christmas break for a chance to win a free yearbook!! (AP –Dec 17)
GRADUATING STUDENTS – POLICIES AND DEADLINES: In the past, it has been the practice of some graduating students to leave their Community Service Hours to the last month of school, thereby jeopardizing their graduation in June. As a result, the following policies are now in place at Mother Teresa:
· PROM: All graduating students must have completed their 40 hours of community service if they intend to attend their graduation dance. The earlier the better! Hours must be submitted to Student Services by May 13th, 2011.
- GRADUATION: In order to attend the Graduation Ceremony, students must have the 40 hours of community service completed by Friday June 10, 2011.
Forms are available in Student Services, the main office, or on the Mother Teresa website. (SD –Dec 17)
