WHOLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
YEARBOOKS! ** LAST 2 DAYS FOR EARLY BIRD PRICE** Yearbooks go on sale, Monday November 22nd, priced at $45. The early bird special will be from 22nd November – 3rd December when the yearbook will be just $40. You can also personalize your yearbook with your name for just $5. Order forms should be distributed during homeroom on November 22nd. You need to bring cash or a cheque with your order form to the school atrium during any lunchtime until December 17th. Cheques should be made payable to Mother Teresa High School and the student’s name, grade and the word yearbook written in the memo portion. Remember pre-ordering is the only way to guarantee you get a yearbook and orders will not be accepted after the 17th of December. (AP –Dec 3)
SKI CLUB: This year, we return to Camp Fortune for 6 sessions (Jan.12, Feb. 2,9,16,23 and March 2) Forms are available from Mr. Nearing (rm.111) and Ms. Stewart (rm.130). Completed forms are due back Friday Dec. 3rd. Space is limited so don't miss out. (KN –Dec 3)

HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
INTRAMURAL VOLLEYBALL: High School Intramural Volleyball Season is official and will kick off Friday this week. The double round-robin starts every scheduled day at 11:40. Check the schedule outside the wood floor gym for details…. Teams are responsible for setting up and taking down equipment. Next activity will be 3 on 3 Intramural Floor Hockey – maximum number of players per team will be 7. Sign ups begin Friday. Any questions see Mr. Prigent. (DP –Dec 3)
REACH FOR THE TOP: The carnage continues Monday with The Yacks battling Five Aces and on Thursday Team Elite scraps it out with the JFK Zombies. The action begins at 11:35 in room 307. BE THERE ON TIME! Spectators are welcome. (JS –Dec 6)
MANGA CLUB: High School students are reminded of the Manga club meeting in Rm 138 on Tuesday, December 7, at lunch. Enjoy a show and talk about Manga!! (JS –Dec 7)
PUBLIC SPEAKING: High School students interested in participating in a public speaking contest in February are asked to see Mrs. Simpson in Rm 138. Speech length is 5-7 minutes and the topic is your choice. Top three speakers will be sent to the Legion competition on March 5. (JS –Dec 10)
SAY IT OUT LOUD: The sonnet deadline has been extended until Friday, December 3. The November winner will be announced on that day. The December writing contest is a SHORT STORY (500 words). The deadline is January 3. Please see Mrs. Simpson for details. (JS –Dec 17)

SHAD VALLEY EXPERIENCE: An opportunity for a grade 10, 11 and 12 students to experience university life at a Canadian University for 4 weeks during the summer. Shad Valley is a well recognized program for high achievers that focuses on Science, Engineering, Technology, Entrepreneurship and Leadership. - Best Buddies Canada is a national charitable organization that helps provide meaningful friendships for people with intellectual disabilities. Through Best Buddies, students and people with intellectual disabilities are matched in one-to-one friendships based on their interests and spend time enjoying the same experiences most people take for granted – going for coffee, watching a movie or simply enjoying the company of a friend. Today, there are more than 200 Best Buddies chapters across Canada, in most major cities and rural areas.
- Best Buddies is also looking for people interested in volunteering to help sell 50 50 tickets at our designated Ottawa Sens home games. (JH –Dec 10)

ATTENTION UNIVERSITY BOUND STUDENTS: On Wednesday, December 8th, 2010, the University of Ottawa will host an information evening for prospective university students and their parents. This is an ideal opportunity to find out about our admission process, scholarships and bursaries. English presentation is at 7:30pm, French presentation is at 6 pm and the Information Fair is from 5pm to 9pm at Jock Turcot University Centre (85 University Street). Ottawa U will be broadcasting the presentations live on the Internet also. Event and webcast details can be found in the Events section of their website at: uOttawa.ca/admission. (KW –Dec 3)
GRADS GRADS GRADS! Grad write-up notices have gone out! If you have not received a hand-out, please go to Student Services to pick one up. Please send these as soon as possible to MMTHS2011@gmail.com.
Also, we would like to start collecting baby photos. E-mail these photos to MTHS2011@gmail.com OR hand in a physical copy to the box in Student Services with your name written on the back. The deadline is January 7th, but submit both your grad write-up AND baby photo before Christmas break for a chance to win a free yearbook!! (AP –Dec 17)
