WHOLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
YOGA: drop-in yoga classes, continue for the month of November. Classes take place from 3:05-4:05 pm on Monday afternoons in the dance studio. Cost is $5.00 per class. Beginners are welcome! (JR –Nov 29)
7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS 
READ-A-THON: Books, magazines, laptops, prizes, author Max Turner, food.......Read for an entire day in the library! It is not too late to sign up for the Read-a-Thon. All pledge money should be returned by Tuesday, November 23, 2010. Pick up pledge sheets in the library. (CHV –Nov 23)
HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
STAND UP TO BULLYING: All Stand Up to Bullying Members who did not attend the meeting Thursday at lunch MUST come by at lunch today, Friday, Nov 12th to finish up our plans for Bullying Awareness week next week!
- All Stand up to Bullying members should come to Student Services each morning when they arrive at school during Bullying Awareness Week (Nov 15-19) to check on the activity for that day and confirm their duty for the day.
- Peace Conference forms are due Monday, Nov 15th to Ms. Coyle (TC –Nov 12)
SCHLOCKEY SIGN UP FOR HS STUDENTS: Come by the wood floor gym this week to check out Schlockey! Free play this week to hone your skills. Round robin tournament begins next week - there are two divisions - Right Handed Shot or Left Handed Shot - It is fast a paced version of bladeless hockey - $1 gets you into the tourney. (DP –Nov 12)
Have you noticed the posters around the school? Are you interested in having your voice heard at the school? Join the Speak Up club in room 201 on Friday November 12 during lunch. We are looking at reducing stereotypes in the school. All new members are welcome. (AB –Nov 12)
ATTENTION ALL REACH FOR THE TOP TEAM CAPTAINS: There is an important meeting at the beginning of lunch on Monday, November 15 in room 307 regarding the upcoming season. THE SCHEDULE HAS CHANGES. There will also be another issue to discuss. (JS –Nov 15)

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: Check out these current opportunities, and more in Student Services!
· SALVATION ARMY - LF VOLUNTEERS! The Salvation Army will be kicking off their 2010 Christmas Kettle campaign from November 18th through to December 24th. Volunteers are asked that they attend the kettles in pairs for accountability reasons and give a minimum of two hours. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age. Dress is dark bottoms and light top and you can expect to stand for the duration of their shift - somewhere between 2 - 4 hours. Raise funds for cancer research and services for people living with cancer by:
· selling and delivering daffodils during the Daffodil Days
· giving out postcards for Girls Night In Program
· canvassing your street during the annual fundraising canvassing campaign
· helping with In Honour, In Memoriam and bequest donations
The YLDBB exists to provide High School, College and University students of every race, religion and socio-economic background with meaningful opportunities for spiritual development, social interaction, and volunteering service to exceptional organizations. (KW –Nov 19)

QUILTS ANYONE? Are you interested in engaging in conversations, building relationships, being productive and doing work for a great cause? Look no further! Victoria's Quilts Canada is looking to set up a youth program at Mother Teresa High School. Students will meet after school in the library to tie quilts, preparing them for the final stage of binding. High School students have the opportunity to earn community service hours. All interested staff and students can sign up in Student Services with Mrs. Watkinson. (KW –Nov 23)
