WHOLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
HEAT ADVISORY- CANCELLATIONS: As directed by our Board Office: Given the extreme heat alert sent out by Ottawa Public Health, all school athletic events, and after school outdoor activities are canceled for Tuesday, May 25th, and Wednesday, May 26th. All phys-ed classes will also remain indoors. (NM –May 26)
7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS
IMMUNIZATION CLINIC – EXTRA DATE: Due to the number of students who missed our immunization clinics, Ottawa Public Health will return to the school on Wednesday May 26 in the morning for another clinic. Grade 7 students will receive their second dose of Hepatitis B vaccine and grade 8 girls will receive their third dose of the HPV vaccine. Only students who missed their clinic and who have already handed in permission slips will receive the immunization. (CB –May 26)
YOUNG AT ART PROGRAM – ARTWORK PICKUP: Those students who participated in the Young at Art Program are asked to pick up their artwork, on Wednesday May 26th, from 4 – 8 pm – that’s THIS EVENING. The work may be picked up at the Atrium Gallery, 101 Centrepointe Drive. The Gallery does not have storage for your artwork, so please be sure to pick it up Wednesday evening, or contact Liz Hoffman at 613-580-2424 x 46652. (SD –May 26)
7/8 ART CLUB: There will be no 7/8 art club this week. Art club will continue next week, June 3rd, as the final meeting of the school year. (CS –May 27)
7/8 TRACK AND FIELD 1ST AND 2ND PLACE WINNERS: Results are posted outside of the P.E. office by the Caf Gym. All Bantam and Midget 1st and 2nd place winners will advance to the Carleton Place Track and Field Meet on Thursday June 3rd. Practices are on Tuesday May 26th *, Wednesday May 27th*, and Tuesday June 1st at lunch. High Jump & relay 12:40-1:00 PM, Shot Put & Long Jump 1:00 - 1:20. Please see Mr. Nicoletti or Mrs. McKenna for permission forms or if you cannot make the tournament. (TM –June 3)*Cancelled due to heat advisory.

HIGH SCHOOL REACH FOR THE TOP: The playoffs start this week! Round one begins with “French Toast Mafia” vs. “The Game” Wednesday, May 26th and “This is Spartaa!Eh?” vs. “Omegle Power” on Monday, May 31st. (JS – May 26)
BLOOD DONOR CLINIC: There will be a blood donor clinic in the Mother Teresa High School gym on the morning of Friday, May 28th. You must be 17 years old and a minimum of 50 kg/110 lbs to donate (see the posters displayed around the school for more donation criteria). If interested, please sign up through your homeroom teacher or with Mrs. McLaughlin in room 130. Family members are also invited to donate on May 28th (give their names to your HR teacher or Mrs. McLaughlin also). (DM –May 28)
ATTENTION STUDENTS AGE 14 – 17: GET A FREE GOODLIFE FITNESS MEMBERSHIP THIS SUMMER! Explore GoodLife's NEW Teen Fitness Program:
- Must be 14-17 years of age (proof of age is required at first visit).
- Program membership duration: July 2nd, 2010 until August 31, 2010. All teen memberships expire on August 31, 2010.
- Valid between the hours of 8:00am-4:00pm, seven days a week. Last check-in is at 3:00pm. All workouts must be completed by 4:00pm.
- Teens may workout up to 2 hours per day.
- It's FREE.

ATHLETIC BANQUET SLIDE SHOW: IF you were involved with a Mother Teresa Sport this season (coach or player) and you have pictures you would like included in the end of year banquet slideshow, please submit them to Mr. Prigent by June 4. We would like to represent ALL our athletes. (DP –Jun 4)

STUDENT VOLUNTEERS WANTED: Upper Canada Village Heritage Park will be holding its 3rd Annual Medieval Festival June 11-13. The Festival is looking for talented and energetic volunteers to act as wenches, guardsmen, peasants, villagers, games people, gate attendees and to help with set up and tear down. STUDENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: June 18-20 at the Ferrari Festival. You will be part of a team ensuring that the public do not get too close to the parked and roped off sports cars as well as helping with the Dream Ride fundraiser for charity. Three-hour shifts are available Friday evening, Saturday afternoon/evening and Sunday morning. You can sign up for more than one shift.
