GRADE 7/8 IMMUNIZATION CLINICS will take place on February 1 and 2. This round of immunizations was postponed from December. Grade 7’s will receive their Meningococcal C vaccine and Grade 8 girls will receive the second dose of the HPV vaccine. Students already brought their permission forms in last September. Students are reminded to eat a good breakfast and to wear clothing that allows for a vaccine to be given. (CB –Feb 1)

ST. BRIGID’S SUMMER CAMP VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: It's here! Staff Employment Opportunities and Counsellor in Training Program at St. Brigid's Summer Camp. Employment is open to any student aged 17 or older. Opportunities exist for program staff, counselors, life guards, maintenance staff and kitchen staff. Counselor in training: shadow counseling under the guidance of senior counselors and program staff. 2-week programs open to students aged 15 and 16; 2 sessions for boys in July, and 2 sessions for girls in August. INVITATION TO WINTER FAMILY FUN DAY: The Havenlea-Chapman Mills Community Association of Barrhaven is hosting a “Winter Family Fun Day” and “Hockey Day in Canada” Event on Saturday, January 30th from 10:00-2:00, at Cresthaven Park (behind Farley Mowat and St. Andrew Catholic schools). An invitation is extended to our school community and families. Outdoor activities will include snowshoeing, sleigh rides, skating, hockey, sliding, contests, BBQ, and Music. Admission is $2 for children, Adults are Free. It promises to be fun for all ages! (NM –Jan 27)

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED –ONCE UPON A MATTRESS: Are you in need of student volunteer hours? Do you enjoy interacting with the public? The Catholic Education Foundation is now accepting volunteer names for the 2019-10 musical, "Once Upon A Mattress". We are looking for students interested in selling programs, ushering, or working alongside an adult selling food at the canteen or clothing areas. Students do not have to commit to all 7 show nights. Any time they have available will be considered for our schedule. Students would have to wear black pants and a white dress shirt/blouse. Arrival time is 6:45 at the St. Paul's Office area. Students will be required to find their own way to St. Paul's and home. They will finish at different times depending on their volunteer service. GRADUATING STUDENTS/COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS: A new policy surrounding Community Service Hours has been adopted at Mother Teresa High School. All graduating students must have completed their forty hours of community service by the date of the school prom if they intend to attend their graduation dance. This comes about as a result of the practice of some students who left their Community Service Hours to the last month of school and were not able to graduate in June. We are encouraging all our graduating students to submit their hours by May 14th, 2010. (NM –Jan 27)

HIGH SCHOOL EXAMS: Exams run from January 22, 2010 until January 27, 2010. Thursday, January 28th, has been reserved as our snow day. In the event buses are cancelled due to inclement weather on any exam day, the exams scheduled to take place on that day will be bumped to the next day. We are looking for students interested in selling programs, ushering, or working alongside an adult selling food at the canteen or clothing areas. Students do not have to commit to all 7 show nights. Any time they have available will be considered for our schedule. Students would have to wear black pants and a white dress shirt/blouse. Arrival time is 6:45 at the St. Paul's Office area. Students will be required to find their own way to St. Paul's and home. They will finish at different times depending on their volunteer service. GRADUATING STUDENTS/COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS: A new policy surrounding Community Service Hours has been adopted at Mother Teresa High School. All graduating students must have completed their forty hours of community service by the date of the school prom if they intend to attend their graduation dance. This comes about as a result of the practice of some students who left their Community Service Hours to the last month of school and were not able to graduate in June.
