YEARBOOK SALES: Today is the last day to buy a yearbook! They will be on sale in front of the cafeteria doors everyday during BOTH high school and 7/8 lunch. This is your last chance to buy a yearbook -
they will NOT be sold after today, so buy your 2009 yearbook now, before it's too late! Extra order forms are available in the office and on the MT website. Yearbooks are $45 (personalization is $5 extra) and payment must be made by cheque.
NOTICE: The library will be closed after school
today.
LIBRARY NOTICE: Library Books can be signed out over Christmas. Please remember to renew any books that are due before Christmas break.
CHRISTMAS SPIRIT WEEK: Monday is Rudolph Day come dressed as Santa's favorite reindeer,
Tuesday is Tropical Day, so break out the summer gear,
Wednesday is Christmas Hat Day, wear a festive hat,
Thursday is Red and Green Day, feel the Christmas spirit and
Friday is Bundle Up Day, beat the cold and snuggle up. Let's have a fun week before Christmas Holidays.
Also, don't forget to deck the halls on Tuesday and get your picture taken with Santa on Wednesday. NOTICE TO GRADS: Grads are reminded to start their applications to Ontario colleges and/or universities by going online and beginning the process. College applications are done at:
www.ontariocolleges.ca and University applications are done at:
www.ouac.on.ca/101. Deadline for university application is Jan. 14 and for colleges it’s Feb. 1. Information sheets for college applications can be picked up in the Student Services office. VOLUNTEER WITH CANADIAN RED CROSS: The Canadian Red Cross is launching a Youth Action Ambassador Program (YAAP) in January 2009. Their goal is to train outgoing, energetic students on global humanitarian issues (such as The Problem of Landmines & Cluster Munitions, Children in Conflict, Malaria & HIV/AIDS, Vulnerable Communities in Canada) & the international role/activities of the Red Cross Movement. Newly trained youth volunteers would act as "ambassadors" for the Red Cross in their respective schools by helping to raise awareness on important humanitarian issues.
If interested, there is a YAAP information session on Monday, December 15th @ 5:30pm at 340 Catherine St. Please RSVP to Cameron Ketchum (613-560-7220 X301 or cameron.ketchum@redcross.ca) if you plan to attend the meeting. See Mrs. McLaughlin in room 130 for more information.
BABYSITTER WANTED: Urgent. Looking to make some money, one hour a day Monday to Friday? Looking for a babysitter for two children, a boy and a girl, aged 8 and 11 with slight intellectual challenges, who live near St. Luke's elementary school. GRADE 9 AND 10 HOMEROOMS: Any junior girl interested in playing on the junior volleyball next semester, first practices are
on Wednesday, Dec. 17th and Thursday, Dec. 18th at 7:30 am. Come prepared to show off what you can do, but open to all levels/abilities. Gym to be identified next week.
ALPINE SKI TEAM: All permission forms and $ are now due to Mr. Steinke, Mrs. Earle, or Mrs. Brady. Also practices are held weekly

On Monday, December 15, we will be taking the grad group photo for the yearbook. Grade 12 students will be called down to the cafeteria at the
END of period 3. Please be sure to attend because there will not be a retake.
GRADS - OLD PHOTOS: Attention all grads! Remember those hilarious photos you took of you and your friends in grades 7, 8, and 9? Well, now's your chance to bring them back! We want your old photos to put in the yearbook! Please bring your "old school" photos to Mrs. Watkinson in Student Services
before Friday, December 19. Please make sure your name and homeroom is written on the back of the photo so it can be returned to you.
