7/8 GIRLS GAELIC FOOTBALL: Team Practice on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week. See Ms. McKenna if you cannot attend.

HIGH SCHOOL DRAMA PRODUCTION: There will be a very important information meeting regarding this year’s high school play on Tuesday (Oct. 2) at 11: 45 on stage. Bring your lunch.

CAPPIE CRITICS: 4 Cappies have not submitted permission forms. You must do so by TODAY or risk losing your opportunity to work as a Cappie reviewer this school year. Please see Mrs. Simpson in Rm. 300.

GIRLS IN GR. 7-10: Girls in grades 7 through 10, and their parents are invited to visit Carleton University and the University of Ottawa to learn about engineering. The date is Saturday, October 13th. They will learn about the 'caring profession', and hear and work with female professionals, academics and students. GIRLS HOCKEY: Meeting TODAY at 12:00 in rm. 107, all players must attend as the schedule will be handed out. Practice TODAY, 3 - 5. Players are dismissed at 2:30.

BOYS HOCKEY: A reminder that this week the Varsity Boys hockey team practices on Tuesday and will be away all day Wednesday for a tournament. Only those who have paid their fees will be eligible to play in the tournament. Deadline for payment is Tuesday at practice. Any questions, please see Mr. Prigent.

REMINDER TO GRADS: There are two Gr. 12 assemblies this week -- one on Tuesday, during period 3 and one on Thursday, during period 3. Both are held in the Library. Topics include grad requirements, post-secondary options, college and university application process and scholarships. Grade 12s have been divided into two groups. Student invitations were distributed in homerooms this morning indicating which session to attend. If you have any concerns, please see your counsellor.

URGENT REQUEST: The Ottawa Carleton Futsal League is looking to interview four (4) students for a position of photo-journalist. Require students who are good writers, who can work independently and have photography skills. Cameras will be provided. You will be taking still pictures and writing stories. TERRY FOX WALK: Our Terry Fox Walk is taking place today. We will be walking even if it is raining, so please be prepared with jackets, umbrellas, hats etc. You will be walking with your Period 2 teacher and will be required to have your Checkpoint sheet stamped by three different stations on the route in order to get into the BBQ and activities. All students who raised $10 or more will be given a BBQ ticket for a free lunch. Do not lose this ticket or you won't get to eat. Great job fundraising Titans, and let's enjoy the day!!

LIBRARY CLOSURES: The library will be closed TODAY during the Terry Fox Run from 10:25 until 1:30. As well, the library will be closed at 3:05 after school.

HIGH SCHOOL GENERAL STUDENT COUNCIL MEETING: Our first General Council Meeting is this morning at 9:05 am. Homeroom teachers are asked to send students to the library seminar room after the announcements. If your homeroom rep. is absent, please send someone in their place to obtain the information to bring back to your homeroom.

SCHOOL CHEER COMPETITION: High school homerooms are asked to send a written copy of your cheer to the meeting with your homeroom rep. One additional person from the class is welcomed to present the cheer to the judges. 7/8 homerooms are asked to send a maximum of two (2) representatives to the main part of the library with the written version of the cheer. Each homeroom will present their cheer to the judges. They will then return to their classes. Thank you to all homerooms participating in the cheer competition!!

NEW YORK CITY TRIP: There is an information session this TODAY at noon in room 305 for all senior students interested in attending an English Dept. trip to New York City in May 2008.

CROSS-COUNTRY RUNNING: All High School students interested in joining this year’s Cross Country Running Team are asked to sign up in Room 136 (first floor of the new wing) at lunch TODAY. Practices will start on Monday after school!!!! Please meet in the Atrium, dressed and ready to run by 3:20 p.m. on Monday.

GIRLS VARSITY HOCKEY TEAM: The Varsity Girls Hockey Team needs two more players to have a team this year. If interested, please see Mrs. Gervais in room 305, or Mr. Nearing in room 107 today. The deadline to decide is Monday, September 10th.

DRIVER EDUCATION: Driver Education program registration forms are available in Student Services. Register between September 4th and October 1st, 2007. Call, mail or fax your forms. Total fee is $462.16; may be paid in 2 equal installments of $231.08

STRATFORD FESTIVAL 2007: Students participating in the Stratford Festival this October, please pick up an important letter from Mrs. Brady in room 201. We have 22 students going this year and we have room for just 2 more! This is your last chance to sign up to see To Kill a Mockingbird, King Lear, Oklahoma! and A Comedy of Errors.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY #1. 4th annual fall fair, Saturday, September 15th, with the Southpointe Community Association. Require assistance with rides, games, pony rides, face painting and other events. We have a Volunteer's Draw. Each person who replies that they can volunteer will get their name entered into our draw, any additional people that you recruit, you will get name submitted again. TERRY FOX RUN: Did you know that Mother Teresa will be participating in the Terry Fox Run this September 28th? As you know, Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope was hugely successful in raising money to find a cure for cancer. Stay tuned to find out more details about this exciting event!

COURSE CHANGE REQUESTS: Students require a valid reason to request a course change, such as summer school, no prerequisite, etc. You must make an appointment with a counselor for any course change. You cannot leave your class to make this appointment. Make it on a spare, before school, at lunch, or after school. Course changes must be done by Friday, Sept. 7th.
