Attention Cast Members of After Math:

St. Brigid's Summer Camp: Registration information for St. Brigid's Summer Camp is available in the Main Office for students up to age 14.

7/8 Games Room Tournaments: 4 divisions to pick from: Foosball singles, Foosball doubles, Air Hockey, and Pinball best 5 ball head to head. Each division is $1 to enter and you are guaranteed 2 games for your entry fee. Tournaments begin April 2nd. You can sign up in the cafetorium every High School Day 1 or in the games room before school from 8:15 to 8:45. Games room is open before school and after school for those wishing to get some extra practice in before the tournament begins. Also, every HS day 1, 7/8 students can sign up to play at lunch time with a $1 deposit before school begins to get a pass.

Prom Committee: Just a reminder to all Prom Committee members of the meeting TODAY at lunch in room 202. Important decisions need to be made, please be there!

We need volunteers to work in many different areas. When you sign up to volunteer you can choose the volunteer job that most interests you or that you are best qualified for. Students will be dismissed today at 1:45 p.m. due to the Grade 7 & 8 parent-teacher interviews. See the revised timetable for today at the end of these announcements.

Literacy Test: A reminder to parents and students that the Gr. 10 Literacy Test will take place tomorrow, Thursday, March 29, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:40 a.m. All students should be present.

All athletes wishing to compete in this year’s season must be aware that the pre-season training is mandatory in order to be eligible to compete during the regular season. Please see Mrs. Galbraith if you have any questions.

Scholarships and Awards: There are a number of awards and scholarships that are available to grads this year with application deadlines that are quickly approaching. Information on these awards can be picked up in Student Services.

Credits: If you have an interest in carpentry or construction and would like to take part in building a house in conjunction with Minto Homes, sign up for the special Focus program that will take place during next school year, in the first semester, starting Sept. 4. You will receive four H.S. credits and work four days a week (Fridays off) learning how to build a house. All work is done on site in Chapman Mills. In the second semester you return to Mother Teresa and take 4 regular courses. Students must be 16 years of age by September 1, 2007. For an application or more information, see Mr. Norris in Student Services.

Grads: Don't forget to get measured for your graduation cap and gown in room 322 any time during the day (not during one of your classes!). The grad fee is $65.00. The cheque should be made payable to "Mother Teresa H.S.".

Volunteer Hours Opportunity: Help celebrate "Barrhaven Kids from around the World", an event which will be held in conjunction with Ross' annual CHEO fundraiser on June 3, 2007. The event runs most of the day in the parking lot of Ken Ross' Independent Grocer and any money raised goes directly to CHEO. We are hoping to have different showcases of the diverse culture in Barrhaven. There will be booths set up for arts and crafts to be displayed. Community Service Hours: Youth Action Day is a day in which hundreds of youth between the ages of 13 and 18 come out and help others in the community. Young people volunteer their time helping community organizations complete hands-on projects and get community services hours. This year projects could include spring cleaning, painting, gardening, serving meals to seniors, fundraising activities and projects that help the environment. Ambassadors are youth who will help promote Youth Action Day 2007 within their own schools, communities and faith groups. These are the youth that will lead the charge to making this year’s Youth Action Day an AMAZING success! Extra volunteer hours will be awarded to all ambassadors for the training session, promotion time of the event, and the day of the event as well. **IMPORTANT NOTE**: Ambassadors are expected to attend a training session to be held on Wednesday March 28th 2007 at United Way Ottawa - 363 Coventry Road, from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm.

Lenten Lifestyle Awareness Calendar:
We will be collecting money this Friday, in the Atrium, during homeroom.

Red Maple Club meets for treats and talk on Wednesday. This week's book talk is We All Fall Down.

Library Notice: The library will be closed after school on Thursday and Friday of this week.

24 Hour ThinkFast: Are you in grade 9 to 12 and want to participate in our 24 Hour ThinkFast? Join us on March 30. Pick up a permission form TODAY, at lunch, in the Atrium.

High School Badminton:
Tryouts are today, Monday, March 5 for senior age players (born 1990 or earlier ) and Wednesday, March 7 for junior age players ( born 1991 or later). Tryouts will be held in the Cafe gym.

Lacrosse Team: There will be a practice for all students coming out for the Lacrosse team on Thursday, March 8 at 3:15 at the wood floor gym. You must have a helmet with a cage, and a lacrosse stick. Check the notice on the door of room 104 for more details. If you have any questions please see Coach Denis during lunch time at 12:00 in room 104.

Girls Touch Football: Try-outs for the Girls Touch Football team will be held on Wednesday, March 7th at 3:20 in Gym A & B.

Babysitter required in neighbourhood for a 17 month old boy. If interested, please call Michelle at 843-0265. House is located on Grenadier Way. Looking to start on a weekend morning or afternoon and then at night during the week.

Community Service Hours Opportunity: The Court at Barrhaven, a seniors home at the corner of Longfields Dr. and Strandherd Rd., is looking for student volunteers, especially on Fridays, Sundays, and Mondays. This is a good opportunity to obtain some community service hours. If you are interested, please call Karen Thompson at 823-2763 to arrange an appointment.
