TERRY FOX WALK: Our Terry Fox Walk is taking place today. We will be walking even if it is raining, so please be prepared with jackets, umbrellas, hats etc. You will be walking with your Period 2 teacher and will be required to have your Checkpoint sheet stamped by three different stations on the route in order to get into the BBQ and activities. All students who raised $10 or more will be given a BBQ ticket for a free lunch. Do not lose this ticket or you won't get to eat. Great job fundraising Titans, and let's enjoy the day!!

HIGH SCHOOL GENERAL STUDENT COUNCIL MEETING: Our first General Council Meeting is this morning at 9:05 am. Homeroom teachers are asked to send students to the library seminar room after the announcements. If your homeroom rep. is absent, please send someone in their place to obtain the information to bring back to your homeroom.
SCHOOL CHEER COMPETITION: High school homerooms are asked to send a written copy of your cheer to the meeting with your homeroom rep. One additional person from the class is welcomed to present the cheer to the judges. 7/8 homerooms are asked to send a maximum of two (2) representatives to the main part of the library with the written version of the cheer. Each homeroom will present their cheer to the judges. They will then return to their classes. Thank you to all homerooms participating in the cheer competition!!

Courses are reach-ahead courses, offered on-line, running from Sept. 24 to Dec. 20. A list of the offered courses for Fall 2007 have been posted in the Courses section of the website, www.virtualacademy.ca. There are three mandatory in-class sessions, (1-First Day, 2- Mid-term Exam, 3- Final Exam), which will be held at St. Paul H.S.
Registration forms can be picked up in the Student Services office. There is a $25 non-refundable fee that must accompany the registration form. Final registration will take place on September 18 at St. Nicholas H.S., 893 Admiral Ave. Registration forms must be approved by the student's home school Guidance Department before submitting to Virtual Academy. COMMUNITY INFORMATION SESSION: Councillors Jan Harder, Steve Desroches and the Ottawa Police Service West Division and Youth Intervention Diversion Unit are pleased to invite you to a 2 hour Community Information Session to take place at the Walter Baker Centre on Tuesday, September 18, 2007. This will be in the Food Court from 6 pm-8 pm. Information on Drugs, Youth Crime, the Parental Responsibility Act and the Child and Family Services Act will be presented. The community will be informed as to the types of drugs that are being used and abused, their effects and what parents can do to prevent and or to get help if needed.

GRADE 8 NOTICE: Grade 8 students who did not receive their Hepatitis B or Meningococcal C vaccines last year are asked to please pick up a permission form from the office in order to receive one this year. The vaccines are being administered on September 20 and students must have a signed permission form in order to receive them.
SCHOOL PHOTOS: School Photos will take place this Friday, Sept. 7th. Please dress appropriately. Information on the purchase of packages will be available later. If you do not intend to purchase a package, you must still have your picture taken in order to obtain your Student ID card. There is no charge for this.
COURSE CHANGE REQUESTS: Students require a valid reason to request a course change, such as summer school, no prerequisite, etc. You must make an appointment with a counselor for any course change. You cannot leave your class to make this appointment. Make it on a spare, before school, at lunch, or after school. Course changes must be done by Friday, Sept. 7th.
STUDENT COUNCIL: Reminder to all members of Student Council of our meeting after school on Thursday, September 6th. Please meet in the Library Seminar Room. Remember to bring ideas for the video!
