Day 2 – H.S. & Day 3 - Gr. 7 & 8
7/8 ULTIMATE: All girls and boys interested in trying out for the Mother Teresa mixed Ultimate Frisbee team need to sign up this week in front of the Physical Education office. Tryouts will be held on Monday, after school. Students must be present to make the team as the tournament is next Friday.
ATTENTION 7/8 STUDENTS: The music room will be closed on Friday at lunch.
7/8 JUNIOR BAND MEMBERS: Just a reminder that the first rehearsal for flute, clarinet and sax players is Monday at 7:30 am sharp - please remember to bring your reeds. The first rehearsal for trumpet, trombone and percussion players is next Thursday after school.
HONOR BAND STUDENTS: There is a rehearsal for Honor Band students on Monday after school at 3:15 sharp.
PEER HELPERS: There will be a meeting TODAY in Room 326, at lunch, for all High School students interested in being a Peer Helper this year.
NEW YORK TRIP: Could all of the students interested in attending the New York trip please meet in room 305 at the beginning of lunch this Friday to give their name to Mrs. Gervais. Those students that wish to hand in their permission form and deposit may bring these to the meeting.
GOLF TEAM: All High School students interested in trying out for the golf team are asked to sign up and pick up the information from Student Services. Try-outs will be Monday, Sept. 17, Tuesday, Sept. 18 and Wednesday, Sept 19.
NOTICE TO GRADS: Carleton University will be coming to Mother Teresa H.S. on Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 10:20, in the Library. Grads who are interested in going to Carleton University in Sept. 2008 should attend this session. Valuable information on programs and admission requirements will be given out. Due to space limitations, this event is only open to Gr. 12 students. Ottawa University will be here on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 9:05.

ST. NICHOLAS VIRTUAL ACADEMY: We are now accepting registration for the FALL session which starts September 24 - December 20, 2007. Courses are reach-ahead courses, offered on-line, running from Sept. 24 to Dec. 20. A list of the offered courses for Fall 2007 have been posted in the Courses section of the website, www.virtualacademy.ca. There are three mandatory in-class sessions, (1-First Day, 2- Mid-term Exam, 3- Final Exam), which will be held at St. Paul H.S.
Registration forms can be picked up in the Student Services office. There is a $25 non-refundable fee that must accompany the registration form. Final registration will take place on September 18 at St. Nicholas H.S., 893 Admiral Ave. Registration forms must be approved by the student's home school Guidance Department before submitting to Virtual Academy. COMMUNITY INFORMATION SESSION: Councillors Jan Harder, Steve Desroches and the Ottawa Police Service West Division and Youth Intervention Diversion Unit are pleased to invite you to a 2 hour Community Information Session to take place at the Walter Baker Centre on Tuesday, September 18, 2007. This will be in the Food Court from 6 pm-8 pm. Information on Drugs, Youth Crime, the Parental Responsibility Act and the Child and Family Services Act will be presented. The community will be informed as to the types of drugs that are being used and abused, their effects and what parents can do to prevent and or to get help if needed.
