Day 2 – H.S. & Day 4 - Gr. 7 & 8

GRADE 7 & 8 GIRLS SOCCER:
Tournament date is next Wednesday, September 12th. Practices will be Monday and Tuesday at 3:10 - 4:15. If interested sign up at Ms. McKenna's PE office door.

GRADE 7/8 BAND INFO:
Attention 7/8 students interested in joining this year's band. Sign up sheets are now posted outside the music room. There will be an important meeting for anyone interested next Tuesday, Sept. 11 at lunch in room 120.

SCHOOL PHOTOS: All students must have their picture taken TODAY in order to obtain their Student ID card. There is no charge for this.

GIRLS H.S. BASKETBALL: There will be a brief, but VERY IMPORTANT, meeting TODAY for grade 9-12 high school girls interested in trying out for BASKETBALL. The meeting will begin at 11:45 a.m. SHARP in Rm. 205 during high school lunch. Please be on time!

VOCAL GROUP: Any students interested in being a part of the vocal group this year must attend a brief information meeting after school TODAY in room 336 (new wing) with Mrs. Symes (Ms. Stephenson) at 3:15. Practices will be starting next week.

NEW YORK CITY TRIP: There is an information session this TODAY at noon in room 305 for all senior students interested in attending an English Dept. trip to New York City in May 2008.

CROSS-COUNTRY RUNNING: All High School students interested in joining this year’s Cross Country Running Team are asked to sign up in Room 136 (first floor of the new wing) at lunch TODAY. Practices will start on Monday after school!!!! Please meet in the Atrium, dressed and ready to run by 3:20 p.m. on Monday.

GIRLS VARSITY HOCKEY TEAM: The Varsity Girls Hockey Team needs two more players to have a team this year. If interested, please see Mrs. Gervais in room 305, or Mr. Nearing in room 107 today. The deadline to decide is Monday, September 10th.

VARSITY BOYS SOCCER: Any boys from Grades 9-12 interested in playing Soccer are asked to attend the first tryout on Monday, September 10th, 3:20 pm on the field across the street. Please see Mr. Loy (Room 302) if you cannot attend.

BOYS H.S. HOCKEY TEAM: All High School grades are welcome as it is a NON-Contact league. Tryouts begin next week at Walter Baker. See Mr. Prigent if you missed the meeting yesterday or have any questions.

DRIVER EDUCATION: Driver Education program registration forms are available in Student Services. Register between September 4th and October 1st, 2007. Call, mail or fax your forms. Total fee is $462.16; may be paid in 2 equal installments of $231.08

STRATFORD FESTIVAL 2007: Students participating in the Stratford Festival this October, please pick up an important letter from Mrs. Brady in room 201. We have 22 students going this year and we have room for just 2 more! This is your last chance to sign up to see To Kill a Mockingbird, King Lear, Oklahoma! and A Comedy of Errors.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY #1. 4th annual fall fair, Saturday, September 15th, with the Southpointe Community Association. Require assistance with rides, games, pony rides, face painting and other events. We have a Volunteer's Draw. Each person who replies that they can volunteer will get their name entered into our draw, any additional people that you recruit, you will get name submitted again. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY #2. Contact Ken Hopkins or Helen Buyers at Lisa MacLeod's campaign office at the Barrhaven Crossing Shopping Mall, 613 825-7472. Get those volunteers hours done - lots of volunteers required.

ATHLETIC COUNCIL: Any students wishing to help participate to run intramurals this year are asked to come sign up at the Phys. Ed. office (near the gym) today. Student participation is integral. It counts toward the 21 point award and you can earn your 40 hours of community service all during the school year. - See Mr. Prigent if you have any questions.
